Output, range, and runtime figures apply to their respective modes; the 57-hour runtime does not apply at maximum brightness.
Frequently asked questions
What LED does the EDC31 use?
One NiteLab UHi 20 MAX LED with nine cores, designed to support both long-range spotlight and broad floodlight modes.
What is its maximum brightness?
LUMIN SHIELD™ provides a maximum output of 3,500 lumens of broad floodlight. Maximum output is not a continuous-output or runtime guarantee.
Why does brightness decrease during use?
The Advanced Temperature Regulation (ATR) module adjusts output according to operating conditions and ambient temperature to help prevent overheating and maintain performance.
What is the maximum beam distance?
The 1,500-lumen SEARCH mode is rated for a maximum beam distance of 380 meters and peak beam intensity of 35,630 cd.
How long does the battery last?
Up to 57 hours at the 5-lumen ULTRALOW setting. Higher-output modes have shorter runtimes. The built-in battery has a capacity of 3,800mAh.
Does it support USB-C charging, and how long does charging take?
Yes. A full charge takes approximately 1 hour and 45 minutes with a 5V/2A adapter. A USB-C charging cable is included; an adapter is not listed in the supplied package contents.
How can I prevent accidental activation?
Use the Rapid Lock™ switch to select Half Lockout or Full Lockout before carrying the flashlight in a pocket or bag. Follow the manufacturer’s operating instructions.
How durable is it?
The EDC31 has an IP68 rating, a 2-meter submersion rating, and 2-meter impact resistance. Its aluminum-alloy body has an HA III hard-anodized finish. These ratings do not mean it is damage-proof.
What is it useful for?
Everyday carry, household emergencies, outdoor lighting, and searching or inspecting areas where compact, adjustable illumination is useful. Keep the high-intensity beam away from eyes and follow the manufacturer’s safety instructions.
